I come from a family of artists; my brother was a commercial artist, my father was recognised as a talented artist at a young age. Although I undertook some formal art training in my youth I am predominantly self-taught.
I abandoned art to pursue a different career. Unfortunately, that career caused me to see and experience the darker side of human nature. I developed chronic anxiety (Post-traumatic stress disorder). In addition, I have recently been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which has been difficult to come to terms with although it has enabled me to re-evaluate what is really important in life, and for me it is my family and helping other people in times of need. Therefore, 100% of the profit from the sales of my paintings will go to the MS Trust or, if you mention your favourite non-profit mental health charity or Help for Heroes at the checkout 100% of the profit from the sale of the artwork will be donated to that charity.
By starting to paint again I have I used art as a tool to alleviate and cure my condition. I work solely in oil and my style is evocative of the emotions linked to memories and events and places.
I believe through the process of painting I am dealing with my Post-traumatic stress and Multiple Sclerosis and with your purchase we will both improve the lives of people at their most fragile.
